The Hidden Dangers of Flat-Faced Breathing: Why Regular Check-Ups are a Must for Your Pug or Bulldog
I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for your love and support during my recent month-long trip to Spain for my dogs' procedures. ππΆ
It was a stressful and financially challenging time, but your understanding and encouragement made all the difference.
First, let me update you on Pugzley's progress. He underwent a laser procedure for his nose and throat operation, which was a huge success! The recovery time was immediate, and he didn't require any downtime. The procedure has a high success rate, and is considered safer than other options. Pugzley's breathing has improved tremendously, and he no longer snores or has other breathing difficulties. He's also no longer holding his nose in the air for hours, which was quite annoying!
Next, I'd like to update you on Skye's journey. She underwent a series of tests on her hips and spine, which came back normal. However, the specialists suspected that her energy level changes and mood swings might be related to hormonal imbalances, particularly with her thyroid. Further tests were done, which came back clear, but one test showed elevated blood levels of an allergy, as well as a smaller than usual liver (or possibly kidney, I can't quite recall now) π
The small liver (or kidney) can cause energy level issues, and the vet wanted to do more tests to confirm the diagnosis. Unfortunately, Skye had to fast for 12 hours before the blood tests, but she was unable to resist the smell of food, which caused her liver (or kidney) to contract, making it impossible to do the blood tests that day.
As a result, we have to complete the blood tests back in England. The vets in Spain were quite surprised by Skye's case. So it seems we’re still in the process of eliminating potential causes of her energy level changes and mood swings.
I'm grateful for the emotional support I received during my trip and feel so loved and supported by each and every one of you! π This experience has made me realize how lucky I am to have such wonderful clients and has made me fall in love with my business all over again.
Thank you again for your love and support. I'm excited to be back and looking forward to catching up with you all soon!
Best,
Rochelle
